You may be asking yourself, “Who and what is South Creek Church?”

SCC is a Reformed Southern Baptist fellowship committed to loving God, loving his word, and loving people.

We are not a perfect people, but are being perfected by and through the power of the blood of Jesus Christ and his redemptive work on the cross. We are unashamed of this truth and boldly proclaim it, knowing it is foolishness to the world, but to those of us who were dying in our sins, it is the power to save.

+ T

Total Depravity

This doctrine affirms the complete corruption of mankind. Every aspect of man is affected through the fall of Adam and his rebellion towards God. No one is capable of pleasing God through their own natural ability. Not only is man incapable of pleasing God, but apart from God’s effectual grace, no man even has the desire to please Him. Since all sinned in Adam, mankind’s federal head, all are born in sin and none are innocent. All carry the burden of Adam’s guilt, since all are in Adam. Everyone who comes after Adam is deserving of the wrath and punishment of a holy, righteous God.

+ U

Unconditional Election

The scriptures tell us, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”. Mankind is completely incapable of initiating his own salvation apart from Christ. Our election (salvation) is unconditional. Man can do nothing to merit his salvation. God’s election of mankind is based on his own good pleasure, desire, and glory. This election was accomplished before the foundation of the world.

+ L

Limited Atonement

Since salvation is based solely on the desire and will of God, and not on the will of man, and since God unconditionally elects those he saves, while condemning others, the atonement is logically therefore limited to those he elects. God is absolutely sovereign, accomplishing salvation according to his will and power, and not the will and power of man. Therefore, when Christ dies for sin, he dies only for the sins of the elect. Logically, he would not redeem those he has chosen for wrath, but only those he has chosen for eternal life. The atonement is efficacious or totally powerful to save those whom God has elected.

+ I

Irresistible Grace

Since the elect are saved according to the good pleasure of God alone, not on the basis of their own merit or choosing; and since God effects this through the atonement which is achieved for the elect alone, God must therefore initiate salvation in the lives of the elect. God accomplishes this through his grace. God initiates salvation by working on the spiritual deadness of a person’s heart and soul, bringing to life the desire to know him, and as a result, that person responds to God. No one seeks after God and no one rejects God’s effectual grace as his spirit works upon their heart. One may initially resist God’s grace as he allows; however, by his determining that resistance will be overcome converting the soul.

+ P

Perseverance of the Saints

Salvation, initiated and secured by Christ, rooted in the absolute sovereignty and power of God, is guaranteed to the end. In the eternal security of God’s grace, the elect will experience the understanding of his own assurance of salvation. Nothing or no one can prevent Christ from eternally saving those whom He chooses.

South Creek Church Statement of Faith + Bylaws

Philosophy of Ministry

A High View of God
The God-Man, Jesus Christ, is absolutely holy and sovereign in all things, at all times, and in all places. Jesus is the creator and sustainer of everything. God created all things in six literal, 24-hour days, by His spoken Word.

A Sufficient View of Scripture
The inspired Word of God is absolutely infallible, inerrant, living, life-giving, sufficient for counseling, and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.

A Low View of Man
Humans are totally depraved, dead spiritually, headed for eternal judgment in hell, and completely incapable of pleasing or coming to Jesus Christ on their own in their sinful, lost condition apart from the sovereign intervention of a loving and gracious God.

A Christ-Centered View of the Church
The church should seek only to please Jesus Christ and not man. This demands an expositional—verse by verse—proclamation of God’s Word and the exaltation of Jesus Christ, who died to pay the penalty for our sin as our substitute and arose bodily from the dead for our justification. Salvation is a free gift from God to the repentant and believing sinner. This gift is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.

A Respectful View of Leadership
The church is called to follow the godly, loving, and biblical decisions of a plurality of elders, as they follow the Head of the church, Jesus Christ.

Become a Member

1. Contact Elder to explore becoming a Member

After each Lord’s Day worship service those who desire to go through the membership process should go to meet with an elder to register for the Membership Classes.

2. Complete Membership Application

Applications for Membership are made available during the membership informational class. This step includes:

i. Completely fill out the Application for Membership

ii. Read “Statement of Faith”

iii. Read "South Creek Church Constitution & By-Laws"

3. Attend Membership Class

A complete class cycle is offered once per quarter. The classes are open for all to attend even if you just want information about South Creek Church. Our goal is to read through the critical topics of the documents to ensure everyone is understanding of what we believe as a church body and what we adhere to.

4. Pastoral Interview/Schedule Baptism

Once your membership packet is complete, contact one of the pastors to schedule a time for your application for membership to be reviewed, signed and approved. (For those who have not been baptized as believers, your baptism will be scheduled at your earliest convenience. At that time, the elders will give you the necessary details involved in being baptized at South Creek Church. Once the baptism has been completed, your application for membership will be approved.)

5. Right Hand of Fellowship

This is the concluding moment when the congregation extends an official welcome to those who have finished their membership process. The Right Hand of Fellowship occurs at the close of the designated Sunday morning worship service. Before the service, the elders will meet with you to welcome those joining as members at the close of service.

Serve at SCC

“Serving at South Creek is about being hospitable and loving toward others so they can experience the love of God.”

1 Peter 4:10-11

10 As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

If you've ever been to a service at South Creek, you have been served by the several volunteers that give their time each week to facilitate our Sunday gatherings. From coffee to greeting to Generations of Grace (G.O.G) Children’s ministry, we rely on teams of generous volunteers to facilitate our ministry at South Creek.
